Some Considerations to Pick What Country You Should Move To
1. Language
Picking the right language can be one of the most crucial factors in determining where you should move.
Psst… that’s why it’s a question in this what country should you live in quiz!
If you are fluent in English, then your options can be significantly limited depending on what type of job, lifestyle, and social environment you’re looking for.
Consider moving to an English-speaking country if you’re looking for work in an English-speaking environment or want to be able to easily communicate with the locals.
If you’re looking to learn a new language, then consider moving to a non-English speaking country where you can immerse yourself in the culture and language.
However, expect that you won’t have as many job opportunities until you are fluent.
Need help learning a new language? I recommend iTalki! I’ve tried ALL the apps, but iTalki is the only way I’ve managed to learn as much as living in the local country.
2. Climate
Do you like hot weather or cold weather? Do you prefer living in the city or the countryside?
Do you want to experience all four seasons, or do you want year-round sunny weather?
These are important factors to consider when asking yourself, “what in the world should I move?”
For example, if you hate cold weather, then you probably wouldn’t want to move to Norway.
If you love hot weather and the outdoors, then you might want to try New Zealand or Australia.
Or if you’re looking for a mix of both, then moving to Spain or Italy might be a good option.
3. Cost of Living
This is an important consideration, especially if you’re planning on moving to a new country permanently.
You’ll need to research the cost of living in the country you’re planning on moving to and compare it to your current budget.
Some countries are more expensive than others, so you’ll need to make sure that you can afford the lifestyle you want in the new country.
For example, moving to Switzerland would be more expensive than moving to Bulgaria.
So if you’re on a tight budget, you might want to consider the latter over the former.
For example, check out the cost of living in Canada here.

4. Visas and Residency Permits
Depending on your nationality, you may need a visa or residency permit to live in the country you’re planning on moving to.
You’ll need to do some research to find out if this is the case and what the requirements are.
Some countries allow foreigners to work on permits, but you may require sponsorship to get these.
If you are aged 18-35, you may be eligible for a Working Holiday Visa which will allow you to work and live abroad for 2 years in a foreign country.
When considering how to move to a different country, visas will play a huge role.
5. Job Opportunities
If you’re planning on moving to a new country for work, then you’ll need to make sure that there are job opportunities in your field.
You can research this by looking at job postings online or contacting companies directly.
It’s also a good idea to research the average salaries in the country you’re interested in to make sure that you’ll be able to live comfortably.
I recommend this platform to find jobs as a foreigner.
6. Pace of Life
This is an important consideration, especially if you’re moving from a fast-paced city to a more rural area.
You’ll need to make sure that the pace of life in the new country is something that you’re comfortable with.
For example, moving from New York City to a small town in Norway would be a significant change in the pace of life.
Make sure to do your research and talk to people who have experience living in the country you’re interested in before making a decision.

7. Safety
When choosing a country to move to, you’ll also need to consider the safety of the location.
There are many factors that go into this, such as the crime rate, the political stability of the country, and whether or not there is a risk of natural disasters.
You can research this by looking at online resources or talking to locals.
Women especially need to consider safety and cultural practices to ensure they are able to live easily.
Every destination on this what country should I live in quiz is 100% safe for women.

8. Entertainment
Finally, you’ll also want to consider the entertainment and leisure options in the country you’re planning on moving to.
This includes things like nightlife, restaurants, museums, and parks.
You’ll want to make sure that there are activities that you enjoy doing in the new country.
If you’re more into hiking, you won’t want to move to a city centre like Singapore.
