These natural hot springs are located in Clayoquot Sound and is only accessible by boat or floatplane.
The hot springs are fed by geothermal activity and the water is a pleasant 50C all year round. Admittedly, the natural sulfur smell isn’t lovely at first, but you get used to it. And once the warm waters and relaxing your muscles, you won’t care if you smell a bit odd.
There are two change rooms on-site, so you can change after walking through the rainforest to reach the rock pools.
Along the way, you may be able to spot gray whales, eagles, sea lions, sea otters, and harbour seals!
The best time to visit is early in the morning when it’s less crowded. The pools are small so you’ll have to share.
6. Sea Kayak at Clayoquot Sound
Clayoquot Sound is a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve and a great place to go sea kayaking.
The protected waters are home to many different marine life, including orcas, humpback whales, sea lions, seals, otters, and bald eagles.

The closest major airport to Tofino is the Vancouver International Airport (YVR).

By Ferry
If you’re driving from Vancouver, you can take a ferry from Horseshoe Bay to Departure Bay in Nanaimo.
The ferry ride takes about 1.5 hours, and you’ll have to pay a fee for your car.
Another option is Tsawwassen by the US border (great for Seattle residents) to Duke Point (closer to Nanaimo) or Swartz Bay (closer to Victoria).
From the ferry, you can drive to Tofino easily.
